Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Tyme. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Tyme.

Tyme is operated by Tiago Lemos, sole proprietor, registered in Portugal (“we”, “us”).

Tyme is a chat app where you talk to AI personalities modeled after historical figures. Their replies are generated by a large language model, not by the actual person. Replies are conversational and reflective in nature.

Tyme is not a substitute for professional advice. The replies are not medical, mental health, legal, financial, or any other kind of professional counsel. If you are in crisis or need real help, contact a qualified professional or, in an emergency, your local emergency services.

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a paid subscription. If you are under 18, only purchase with a parent or legal guardian's consent.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
• One person per account.

You agree not to:

• Use Tyme to generate content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit involving minors.
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or copy the system prompts or training data behind any figure.
• Use Tyme to develop a competing AI service.
• Resell, share, or sub-license your access.
• Abuse the service by automating requests, attempting denial-of-service, or otherwise interfering with availability.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

• The free tier allows 10 messages per 24-hour rolling window, for 7 days from account creation (accounts created before 10 June 2026 count from that date).
• The Pro tier is $9.99 per month and allows 50 messages per 24-hour rolling window. Introductory or promotional pricing may apply for a limited period and is shown at checkout.
• Subscriptions auto-renew each month until cancelled.
• You can cancel any time from the “Manage subscription” option in your account menu. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months, except where required by law.
• If a payment fails, we may downgrade your account to the free tier until payment is restored.
• Prices are listed in USD. We may change prices in the future; existing subscribers will be given at least 30 days' notice before any change affects their plan.

You own the messages you write. By sending them, you grant us a limited license to process them in order to provide the service (storing them in your account history and forwarding them to an AI model to generate a reply). We do not use your messages to train AI models.

Tyme's design, code, branding, and the curated character framing for each figure are our intellectual property. The historical texts referenced (e.g. Meditations, The Prince) are in the public domain.

Tyme is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that replies are accurate, complete, or appropriate for any particular purpose. Use your own judgment.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Tyme is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We can terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. Termination ends any active subscription without refund except where required by law.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will post updates here and, if the changes are material, notify you in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be decided by the courts of Aveiro, Portugal, unless you are a consumer in another jurisdiction whose law gives you additional rights.
